• The City of Belview reported a scam involving their Fire Department on Sept. 9. Several area businesses were solicited to purchase advertising space in a fundraising calendar for the department. Several others received an invoice requesting payment for the advertising. A local business checked into the validity of the calendar and learned there was no such fundraiser. The RCSO reminds residents to verify the validity of fundraising effort prior to donating money.
