NEW ULM — NU Roots Salon recently opened at 219 N. Broadway, in Suite D, behind Jimmy John’s.

Owner Chelsey Bode said the business offers many services including men’s and women’s cuts, colors, body waxing and eye lash lips and tints. Walk-ins are welcome.

Bode and Keli Weatherly work at the salon with a rear entrance.

“We’re a Paul Mitchell-focused salon. We do wedding and formal up dos and hair on and off site. We’ve traveled as far as St. Peter already,” Bode said.

The daughter of the Lakes on 1st restaurant owners Mike and Lois Bode, Chelsey cooks at the restaurant located in downtown New Ulm at 512 1st St. N. on Thursdays, but her salon is open much of the time.

Business hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday by appointment.

Bode worked at The Cutting Edge on South Broadway for eight years before opening her own business.

Weatherly formerly taught at Nova Academy in Mankato and worked at a number of Mankato salons.

NU Roots is on Facebook. It offers beauty, cosmetic and personal care and a number of products. For an appointment, call Chelsey at 276-5106.
