Park & Rec

• A sample fitness event will be held at the Rec Center Sunday, March 24. The public can sample of fitness classes, each 30 minutes, gym court 3. Classes are open to members, general admission and Weight Loss Challenge participants. Classes offered are Tabata and Tone at 1:30 p.m., Spin at 2:15 p.m. Body Weight at 3 p.m. and cap it off with Yoga at 3:45 p.m.

• Lifeguard Training will be offered 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 29-30 at the Rec Center. There are 5 to 8 hours of online course work to be completed prior to the pretest. The pretest will be administered 5 to 6 p.m. March 27. Online registration available at newulmmn.gov or reach out to Ben at 507-233-2121, ext 204 if you have questions.

• Pool Eggstravanganza will be held 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, March 29 from with the Egg Hunt at 2:30 p.m. Fee is $10 per child non member or $5/member. Adult membership or daily admission applies.

• Easter Egg Hunt 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Harman Park. Activities available from 10-11 a.m. and photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny.

• Girls on the Run is an 8-week program for girls in 3-5 grade that combine physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships and expressing empathy. Girls will meet at the Rec Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. starting April 1. Register at https://www.gotrmn.org/3rd-5th-grade-program-details. Financial aid available.

• Spring Garage Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 6. Purchase spots at the Rec Center during building hours. A spot includes three 8-foot tables

• Park and Rec Summer recruitment has started. Park and Rec. is searching for people to join the department, including skilled laborers to mow, trim, drag/line ballfields, paint, clean and help maintain city parks. Park and Rec. is also looking to recruit coordinators and aides to assist with programs and youth activities as well as monitor and oversee our wading pools.

• Open Pickleball 6-8:45 p.m.Wednesday and Friday, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Sundays and 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Outdoor courts are open at Lincoln Park. Paddles are available to rent at the Welcome desk for $2 and includes a ball. People playing pickleball outside of these hours are welcome to pull the net out and play on an open court.

• Open Tennis is offered Saturday mornings from 8 to 10 a.m. The curtain will be closed and will not affect the walking track.

• Tot Swim is offered Wednesdays in the shallow pool from 9-10:30 a.m. Admission is $3. Tot Gym is offered Mondays and Fridays from 9-10:30 a.m. Burn off energy in the gym! Toys provided. Admission is $3 and that includes admission in the playground as well.

• Summer Program Brochure will be released March 29 with registration opening April 10. Please mark your calendars and prepare accordingly. All registration is done online at newulmmn.gov or in person at the Rec. Center.
