New Ulm Brewers to host 7 special promotional nights in 2024

On Friday, May 31, the New Ulm Brewers along with Schell’s Brewery will sponsor a “Veteran’s Night” at Johnson Park when the New Ulm Brewers host the Courtland Cubs at 7:30 p.m. in a Tomahawk East League game.

“That event is sponsored by Schell’s Brewery,” Rick Traulich of the New Ulm Baseball Association said. “The Baseball Association, along with Schells are going to buy all of the veterans that come to the game a meal — burger, french fries and a beverage.”

Before the game, the Schell’s Hobo Band will perform and the New Ullm Battery will also be there to fire a ceremonial salute prior of the game.

The game will also see the Brewers wearing a special edition camouflage blue uniform to celebrate that evening.

The uniforms were purchased by Schells Brewery, while the meals are courtesy of the New Ulm Baseball Association.

“That will be a special night and be a very nice crowd,” Traulich said.

That night is just one of seven special promotional nights at Johnson Park for Brewers games.

The first night is on Sunday, May 5, when the Brewers host Stark in an exhibition game 4 p.m. for “New Ulm Junior Baseball Night.”

Traulich said that all of the Junior Baseball players will be at the game.

“All of the Junior Baseball players will get a free hot dog and Gatorade,” Traulich said. “Junior Baseball will also have their raffle that night.”

Sunday, June 9, is “Nilson Heating and Cooling Day” when the Brewers entertain Gaylord in a 5 p.m contest.

“As of now, they are not sure what they are going to go for that day,” Traulich said. “They may be in conversation with the Twins about something.”

The “New Ulm Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame Day” is on Sunday, June 23, at 5 p.m. when the Brewers play Stark.

Wednesday, June 26, is “MVTL Appreciation Night” when the Brewers host Leavenworth.

On Monday, July 1, it is the “Candy Man Night” when the Brewers host Gibbon at 7:30 p.m.

“The first 100 fans will get a free meal — hamburger or cheeseburger or chicken sandwich along with french fries and a beverage,” Traulich said.

And “Fan Appreciation Night” is Tuesday, July 16, when New Ulm hosts Hanska at 7:30 p.m.

“We are going to do something like going back to 80s prices, so we will roll back all of our prices to what we had in the 80s.”

Traulich said that there are still a couple more promotions in the works right now.

“There will be many things going on at Johnson Park this year,” Traulich said.

And if you are a New Ulm business and want to promote a night you can contact either Traulich at 507-276-4834 or LeRoy Flor at 507-217-9948.
