NEW ULM — The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Skyler Carlson as the new district program coordinator for Junior Achievement (JA).

Skyler has been with JA since March and specifically with the New Ulm branch since July 1st of this year.  New Ulm does not have a physical location of JA. Skyler works mainly from home. JA works to make students financially literate.  They offer programs for students in high school and younger.  They estimate that they will have worked with 2,000 kids this year, teaching them how to budget, what to do with their first paycheck, tips for interviewing and how to find jobs that fit their skills and interests, life skills, and mentorship.  They like to have their classes taught by local professionals who volunteer to share their experience. Anyone interested in learning more or anyone who would like to volunteer to teach a class – visit JA Facebook or at janorth.org.
