State Patrol, BCSO patrol saturation Aug. 5-7

CR 29 has 55 mph speed limit

NEW ULM — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) advised motorists on several ways to avoid getting pulled over in the next few days.

Advice included driving the speed limit, avoiding texting and driving, stopping at stop signs and red lights, displaying unobstructed license plates and tabs and ensuring driver’s licenses are valid.

If there is no speed limit sign in rural areas, the speed limit is 55 mph.

The BCSO and Minnesota State Patrol will participate in a patrol saturation Tuesday, Aug. 5 through Thursday, Aug. 7 on CR 29 that connects New Ulm to State Highway 4 and State Highway 67/68. County Road 29 is known for high truck traffic.

“Brown County Road 29 is the most heavily traveled county road. With the aid of navigation apps, traffic has increased over the years. Our primary target is speed,” said Brown County Sheriff Jason S. Seidl.
