NEW ULM– The Concord Singers kicked off the 2022 summer Music in the Park series Monday evening.
The German Park amphitheater will host a Monday evening concert through the rest of the summer with performances starting at 7 p.m.
The Concord Singers have been the opening act for the Music Park nearly every year, except for the one year the group was out of the country touring in Germany.
The band noted that in terms of weather, this year’s first performance was the exact opposite of last year. In 2021, the series-opening Music in the Park performance had 95-degree temperatures with little humidity. This year, it was 75 with the threat of rain.
Monday’s concert drew a sizable crowd despite the threat of a downpour. Storm clouds hung over most the performance, but the Concord Singers managed to sing 40-minute set before ending early due to the rain.
The Music in the Park performance for Monday, June 13, will feature The Wildflowers. Monday, June 20, Molly and Sonny Boy will play the amphitheater. Monday, June 26, will feature the Pint Size Polkas show. All performances start at 7 p.m.
