Ice cream social and asylum program
HANSKA — Nora UU Church, Hanska, will host a program on refugee asylum processing in conjunction with an ice cream social on Thursday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m. The presenter is Kynzie Clark, intern at Kivu immigration law firm in Worthington where she specializes in asylum applications and researches country conditions for clients. Clark will speak about refugee status in the U. S. and Minnesota. The program’s intent is to increase community awareness and engagement with immigration challenges, legislation, and experiences.
Clark has been teaching classes on global refugee crises to middle and high school students through her studies at Yale.
Brief musical selections by Sally Hanson and Nita Gilbert will precede and follow the presentation. Nora Church is located 1 mi. east of Hanska on county highway 257.
