NICOLLET COUNTY — The driver os a 2000 Subaru Legacy wagon died following a two-vehicle crash reported at 6:32 a.m., July 15 on Nicollet County Road 1 and 481st Ave., New Sweden Township.

Allen O. Dauer, 56, New Ulm, was turning westbound on CR 1 from 481st Aven. in a 1994 International 9000 semi when an eastbound Subaru hit the semi trailer. Dauer was not injured. The Subaru driver, who’s name was not released pending family notification, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mankato and later died due to his injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Assisting agencies were the Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Transportation, Lafayette Fire and Ambulance, Allina and Mayo Ambulance.
