Strong storm buffets area on Saturday

Rainfall occurred off and on throughout the day Saturday, but turned into a downpour by late evening and a tornado warning was issued for Sibley County. A funnel cloud was spotted north of Gaylord around 6:30 p.m.
A flood warning would remain in effect for parts of Renville, Sibley, Blue Earth, Nicollet, Waseca Redwood and Brown County until Sunday evening. Between 5 and 10 inches of rain fell between Saturday night and Sunday morning along the Minnesota River from Morton to Mankato. Lafayette saw significant rain fall resulting in flooded streets.
