NEW ULM — A 44-year-old Springfield woman originally charged with 14 criminal sex counts was sentenced to five years, four months in prison in Brown County District Court July 13.

Sarah Marie Riederer was convicted of one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. She pled guilty to the charge May 27 and 13 first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges were dismissed.

Riederer was sentenced to 64 months at the Shakopee Correctional Facility, credited with one day served and must serve 32 months supervised release. Her prison time may be extended to eight full years for disciplinary actions. She was filed $160.

Charges were filed Dec. 19, 2025, after Redwood Falls Police received a Jan. 28, 2025 child protection report that stated an 15-year-old victim said his father, William Roy Witt, forced him to have sex with at least three of his girlfriends between 2022 and 2024, according to the criminal complaint.

Redwood Falls Police confirmed through previous law enforcement contacts that Witt lived in Redwood Falls from 2021 through 2023.

Witt was charged with 13 felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Authorities said the assaults happened in Redwood Falls, Montevideo, Marshall and Springfield.
