WATONWAN COUNTY — The Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office identified the two victims in a fatal New Year’s Day crash east of Comfrey Friday as Kurt Roiger, 53, of Sanborn and Albert Sellner, 78, of Springfield.

Roiger was driving a 2013 Ford F150 that collided with a 2014 Buick La Crosse driven by Sellner 620th Avenue, north of 270th Street. Both drivers were deceased upon arrival of emergency medical personnel.

There were no other people involved in the crash that remains under investigation. No formal crash report will be available until the case is closed, according to the sheriff’s office.
