Court proceedings

Brown County District Court

• Tyler Thomas Lastine, 33, New Ulm, was charged Friday with felony third-degree drug possession including methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, in a park zone and felony fifth-degree drug possession-not small amount marijuana. A Zoom hearing was set for 8:30 a.m. April 2.

According to court documents, New Ulm Police Officer Cory Lyons called the New Ulm Bus Lines manager Jan. 24 about Lastine, who said he worked in their shop. Officer Lyons arrested Lastine on an arrest warrant at a bus garage about 193 feet from South Park.

Searching Lastine, New Ulm Police Cpl. Chris Davis found a suspected bubble pipe wrapped in an orange, rubber glove. Inside the pipe was a weighable amount of suspected methamphetamine. A test ampule showed a presumptively positive test for methamphetamine.

Lastine was transported to the Brown County Jail. A clear plastic baggie with suspected methamphetamine residue was found in Lastine’s pocket. An ampule showed a presumptively positive test for methamphetamine that weighed 0.32 grams without packaging.

Lastine’s criminal history showed a Nov. 17, 2014 prior fifth-degree drug possession conviction in Brown County Court.
