• Gary W. Schreyer, 73, 807 N. German St., New Ulm, was charged with gross misdemeanor third-degree refusal to submit to chemical test and misdemeanor fourth-degree DWI Monday. According to court documents, New Ulm Police on patrol saw a motorcycle northbound on German Street near the 3rd North Street intersection at 12:54 a.m. Sept. 21. Police noticed the motorcycle had its left turn signal on and was stopped with no one appearing to be approaching.

Police saw the motorcycle swerve and appeared to be out of control. Police stopped the motorcycle and observed intoxication clues from the driver later identified as Schreyer. He admitted drinking and failed a preliminary breath test. He was arrested for DUI. Schreyer refused to submit to a chemical breath test.

Schreyer was released from custody Monday. His unconditional bail was set at $3,000. He had no conditional bail. A court appearance was set for 11:30 a.m. Oct. 7.
