A 41-year-old Spirit Lake, Iowa, man died in a three-vehicle crash at Harvest Avenue and State Highway 19 in Kintire Township, Redwood County on Wednesday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

John Michael Mcwhorter died from injuries received while driving a 2024 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Highway 19 when he collided with a westbound 2004 Peterbuilt tractor driven by James Randall Adkins, 42, of Brush, Colorado. Mcwhorter’s car also collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Logan Jay Schreifels, 22, Vesta, who was also eastbound on Highway 19.

Assisting agencies were the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Belview First Responders and Fire, Redwood Falls Fire Dept. and Centra Care Medical.
