NU CVB launches new visitor welcome page
Expands digital marketing
NEW ULM– The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau has launched a dedicated visitor landing page at newulm.com/welcome and expanded its digital marketing.
Sarah Sveine, tourism and member services manager for the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the new page is part of efforts to update marketing approaches.
“We’ve really been focused on modernizing how we market New Ulm while also making it easier for visitors to plan their experience once they decide to come here,” Sveine said.
The page is designed for people attending tournaments, conventions, festivals and other community events. It includes information on lodging, dining, shopping, attractions, events and trip-planning tools.
The site features a community events and tournaments calendar.
It also highlights the CVB’s Advertising & Marketing Assistance Program, which provides grant funding for organizations promoting New Ulm outside a 60-mile radius.
The CVB has added visitor support for events that includes welcome bags, Narren appearances, visitor materials and other hospitality resources.
Local businesses are distributing QR-code flyers and window clings directing visitors to the new page.
The organization’s social media reach and impressions have more than tripled over the past year, according to its internal tracking. Several campaigns generated tens of thousands of views and engagements.
The CVB added TikTok and Threads while increasing activity on existing platforms.
Its 2026 digital strategy focuses on destination information, community stories and directing traffic to newulm.com.
Other efforts include targeted advertising, podcast commercials, visitor guide distribution, streaming and digital campaigns, and collaboration with Explore Minnesota.
The CVB launched a quarterly tourism e-newsletter to update past and potential visitors on events, attractions and seasonal activities.
Marketing efforts now include year-round promotion of food, shopping, history, outdoor recreation, arts, live music and family-friendly activities in addition to festivals and heritage tourism.
The organization has increased collaboration with local businesses, event organizers and community groups.
The CVB aims to connect visitors, event organizers and local businesses with needed resources through its digital platform at newulm.com.
“Our goal is to continue growing New Ulm as a year-round destination while supporting the businesses, events, and organizations that help make this community such a special place to visit,” Sveine said.
