Police logs

New Ulm Police • Received a call at 7:02 a.m. Friday about a man yelling near a damaged vehicle near German Street and Fourth Street North. The man was gone when police arrived but he later came to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center in an intoxicated state with dried blood on his hands. The man was arrested for alleged criminal damage to property and motor vehicle tampering and transported to detox where he is being held for court. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

Feedback favors farmland protection

NEW ULM — Brown County Commissioners unanimously approved adoption of the 2040 Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update Tuesday. The land use plan update, the first since 1991, was created after the county board approved hiring Bolton & Menk, Inc. to complete the update project that began in May 2025. Public review and input included 438 written comments and 185 verbal comments. An online map-based survey received 212 public responses.
