NEW ULM - Brown County received 80 early voting ballots deposited into the tabulator at the Brown County Courthouse Friday as early voting commenced. According to Brown County Auditor Treasurer Kelly Hotovec, Brown County is utilizing the early voting system more than surrounding counties. “We were talking to other counties and when they were at two to ten ballots we were already at 27,” Hotovec said. MINNESOTA - A summer staple for Minnesotans, the 2026 Minnesota State fair concluded on Labor Day with nearly 2 million people attended over the 12 days of action.  During the fair, the Minnesota House of Representatives polled attendees on 12 relevant issues regarding Minnesotans, with 9,605 people participating in the poll.  On the topic of gun control, 75.2% of attendees believed semi-automatic military-style assault rifles should be prohibited.
