NU School board candidate filing begins Tuesday

NEW ULM – On Tuesday the window for candidates to file for the New Ulm School board election opens. Any candidate who wishes to have their name on the ballot for school board during the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election must file an affidavit of candidacy with the school district’s clerk’s office in the New Ulm Middle School in the two week period between July 14 and July 28. NEW ULM - The New Ulm City Council approved the final assessments for 2025 surface reconstruction and 2025 utility street following public hearings for both assessments. The 2025 surface reconstruction project included improvements to 23th North Street from North Broadway to Terrace Drive; 11th South Street from Payne Street to Jefferson Street; 5th North Street from Broadway to German Street; 15th South Street from State Street to Washington Street and Summit Avenue from State Park Road to Golf Drive. New Ulm Police • Responded to a report of a drug deal at 311 Minnesota Street North at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday. A 45-year-old New Ulm man was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail for alleged felony third-degree and fifth-degree drug possession within the vicinity of public housing. About 1.67 grams of methamphetamine was seized by police.
