Hy-Vee donates $1,749 to NUACS

NEW ULM – Last week Hy-Vee raised $1,749 for New Ulm Area Catholic School (NUACS) through the annual Football tailgate. Store director Bill Kittler (left) gives the check to Cathedral athlete Jake Finstad and NUACS Activities Director Alan Woitas (right). The money will go to NUACS Booster Club.

United Way of the Brown County Area’s 27 annual fall Days of Caring will be held Oct. 24 to Oct. 26. The event is an opportunity for community members to come together and positively impact the lives of those in need. Days of Caring is an annual event organized by United Way to foster a sense of community and promote volunteerism. Participants are encouraged to recruit family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to form teams ranging in size from two to ten people. NU Film Society shine a light on “What We Do in the Shadows”

By Clay Schuldt NEW ULM – The New Ulm Film Society will drive a stake into its mockumentary series with a screening of “What We Do in the Shadows.” The screening begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the New Ulm Public Library. The film was released in 2014 and was created by a New Zealand cast and crew. The film is set in Wellington and is about a documentary crew following four housemates who are all vampires.
