Options to access same-day care at New Ulm Medical Center

NEW ULM — Like other health care systems across the state, the New Ulm Medical Center is periodically experiencing high patient volumes. As this can occasionally lead to long wait times, NUMC wants to be sure the community is aware of the various options to access same-day care.

If you are experiencing non-life threatening minor illness or symptoms, there are three options for you to access care the same day. Call 507-217-5011 or use your Allina Health account (online or through the app) to book an appointment or learn more these options.

Virtual visits:

Virtual video visits are available for same day appointments Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Video visits are for children and adults and are easy and convenient. This options allows patients to see local providers (New Ulm and Springfield) without having to leave home or work.

In-person visits:

Every day, providers (New Ulm and Springfield) hold time in their schedule for last minute appointments. In-person visits take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Urgent Care:

No appointment necessary. Wait times for Urgent Care may vary due to patient volume. Urgent Care is available 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

If you are experiencing life threatening major illness or symptoms, the Emergency Department is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To book a same-day video or in-person visit for minor illness or symptoms, call 507-217-5011. You can also view options and book an appointment online through the Allina Health account.
