MONTOGMERY — Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Owen Birkholz hit nine 3-pointers Monday with a 87-49 win over Tri-City United in a nonconference boys basketball game.

Birkholz hit nine 3-pointers on his way to 37 points to lead the Chargers, while Pierson Brau had 21 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks.

MVL (9-3) hosts Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial on Thursday.

Madelia 86, AC/GE 56

ALDEN — Madelia rolled Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons 86-56 in a Valley Division boys basketball game on Monday.

Dalton Tatro led the Blackhawks with 29 points and 15 rebounds, while Tate Becker had 14 points and five assists. Caden McMullen had 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Bryce Borkenhagen had 12 points, seven assists and eight steals.

Madelia (9-0, 6-0) plays at Cleveland on Thursday.

GFW 71, Sibley East 66

ARLINGTON — Cole Jacobson scored 43 points to lead Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop over Sibley East 71-66 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Monday.

Matthew Lee added 8 points for the Firebirds, while Luke Bastian and Owen Swenson each had 6.

Will Feterl had 28 for the Wolverines, while Riley Bussler had 14.

GFW (6-4) hosts Wabasso on Tuesday, while Sibley East (3-8) plays at Le Sueur-Henderson on Thursday.

Cedar Mountain 70, MLA/C 35

COMFREY — Cedar Mountain rolled Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 70-35 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Monday.

Aubrey Steffl led the Cougars with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals, while Kendra Lueck had 19 points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals. Grace Hamre had 9 points and four steals, and Kendra Erickson added 8 points, eight rebounds and four steals.

Cedar Mountain (10-2) hosts Redwood Valley on Thursday.

Sibley East 37

NICOLLET — Nicollet defeated Sibley East 60-37 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Monday.

Zoie Rengstorf led the Raiders with 15 points, while Cheyenne Klockziem had 12 points. Jazmyn Goettlicher added 10 points for Nicollet.

Nicollet (8-6) hosts Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons on Friday.

Wabasso 72, GFW 58

WABASSO — Wabasso topped Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 72-58 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Monday.

Kenley Guetter led the Rabbits with 24 points and 19 rebounds with six assists and four steals, while Sara Carlson had 15 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Cassie Bliss had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.

No statistics were reported for GFW.

Wabasso (6-9, 4-5) play at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Thursday, while GFW (2-10, 1-7) plays at Sibley East on Monday.

Violet Hammer led the Chargers with 17 points and three steals, while Olivia Hammer had 14 points and four rebounds. Avery Freier added 10 points and three steals.

MVL (6-5) plays at St. Clair on Tuesday.
