Anderson, a senior catcher for the Madelia Blackhawks, helped the sixth-seeded Blackhawks upset a pair of top teams in the Section 2A playoffs this year in Sleepy Eye (No. 3) and Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (No. 2). This season, he has a .338 batting average to go with 19 RBIs, 33 runs scored and 22 stolen bases.

Q: What’s your favorite food?

A: Burgers. Plain cheeseburger.

Q: What’s your favorite band/musical artist?

A: I’m more of a country guy, so I would probably say Cody Johnson or something like that.

Q: Who’s your favorite all-time baseball player?

A: Babe Ruth.

Q: Who’s the funniest person on your team?

A: Kyle Pietsch.

Q: What’s the best baseball advise you’ve been given?

A: I was in a hitting slump at the beginning of the season and one of my coaches [Ben Jacobs] was basically just saying, ‘Think oppo.’ So I’d probably say, ‘Think oppo.’
