NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-America honors on Monday, with Martin Luther College’s Samuel Plocher being named to the First Team.

The accolade is one of many for the freshman jumper, as he has had previously been named USTFCCCA All-Region, UMAC Rookie of the Year, and UMAC All-Conference.

The awards come especially after Plocher participated in the NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championships this past Saturday and was one of 20 high jumpers in the event. Plocher cleared the 2.04 meter jump, becoming just one of eight student-athletes to achieve the mark.

Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia, took home First-Team All-America honors, while those who placed ninth through 16th individually and ninth and 10th as part of a relay earned Second-Team All-America.
