SPRINGFIELD — Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye 68-45 Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball game.
Ben Potter led the Tigers with 17 points and two steals, while Brayden Sturm had 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Noah Vogel added 13 points, five rebounds and six assists for Springfield.
Landon Wendinger led the Indians with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, while Isaac Lendt had 13 points and three assists. Marcus Martinez added 11 points, three rebounds and three steals for Sleepy Eye.
Springfield (7-5, 6-2) and Sleepy Eye (11-2, 7-1) play in the Red Rock Conference crossover tournament on Saturday in Westbrook.
MVL 73, St. Clair 64
ST. CLAIR — Minnesota Valley Lutheran downed St. Clair 73-64 Thursday in a nonconference boys basketball game.
Ben Pearson led the Chargers with 35 points, 12 rebounds, six steals and four assists, while Kyler Flunker had 13 points, 6 rebounds and two steals.
MVL (11-2, 7-1) hosts Blue Earth Area on Friday.

BIRLD ISLAND — BOLD defeated Cedar Mountain 79-44 in a nonconference boys basketball Thursday.
Blake Schueller led the Cougars with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Blake Steffl had 11 points and seven assists.
Cedar Mountain (7-6) travels to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.

MADELIA — Immanuel Lutheran held off Madelia 60-58 on Thursday night in a nonconference boys basketball game.
Kyle Pietsch led Madelia with 24 points, while Kaydon Firchau had 14 and Eric Anderson had 11.
Madelia (7-7) plays at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at Westbrook against New Ulm Cathedral.

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain took down Red Rock Central 64-42 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Thursday.
Aubrey Steffl led the Cougars with 26 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Brynn Hoffbeck had 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Also for Cedar Mountain, Brooklyn Diehn had 8 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Jaylyn Welter had 7 points and six rebounds.
Cedar Mountain (8-9) is at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart for a 6 p.m. game Friday.
BEA 50, MVL 31
BLUE EARTH — Blue Earth Area defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 50-31 on Thursday night in a nonconference girls basketball game.
Olivia Hammer led the Chargers with 9 points, while Avery Hopp had 6 points and 10 rebounds.
MVL (3-11) hosts New Ulm Cathedral in conference action at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

NUA sweeps at SJA Tri
ST. JAMES — New Ulm Area wrestling team defeated St. James Area 42-19 and Windom-Mountain Lake 41-12 during a prep wrestling triangular on Thursday.
Regan Johnson (107), Kane Johnson (114/121), Elijah Rieser (127/133), Winsten Nienhaus (145), Noah Engel (160), Wyatt Pollard (172) and Evan Thompson (285) all went 2-0 on the day for New Ulm.
