New Ulm baseball tops St. Peter

New Ulm 11, St. Peter 7
ST. PETER — New Ulm rallied from a two-run deficit, scoring six runs in the final two innings to win a Big South Conference baseball game at St. Peter on Tuesday.
Carter Lang went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and Evan Wiltscheck was 3 for 5 three RBIs. Sam Keckeisen was also 2 for 4 and he pitched 2/3 of an inning with one strikeout.
Jaden Drill picked up the win in relief of Hunter Sehr. Drill pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowed two hits and one earned run. He walked four and struck out three.
Sehr allowed six runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out three.
New Ulm hosts Waseca on Thursday.
St. Clair 4, Madelia 3
ST. CLAIR — St. Clair topped Madelia in a Valley Conference baseball game on Tuesday.
Dylan Grev struck out 10 in 5 1/3 innings. He allowed two runs and three hits. Madelia had just one hit in the game.

MARSHALL — New Ulm competed at the Marshall Invite on Tuesday. No results were available, but New Ulm sophomore Emily Pearson broke the pole vault record with a mark of 10-feet-1 inches. This broke the old record of 10-feet held by Emma Gauert in 2018.

GFW boys 205, MVL 228
WINTHROP — The Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop boys’ golf team defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference action.
For GFW, Logan Martin was the medalist with a 37. Ben Pearson led MVL with a 50.
On the girls’ side, MVL’s Nadine Clobes led the way with a 53 and GFW’s Jenna Schweiss shot a 59.
Wabasso boys 190, BLHS 214
SANBORN — Wabasso defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ golf meet on Tuesday.
Jayden Carlson led Wabasso with a 44 and Cale Petersen led BLHS with a 46.
On the girls’ side, Chloe Rohlik shot a 62 for Wabasso and Ava Ahlbrecht carded an 81.
Madelia boys third at Valley meet
MANKATO — The Madelia boys’ golf team finished third with a score of 189 at a Valley Conference meet on Tuesday.
St. Clair/Loyola took first with a 175 and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton was second with a 188. Madelia took third, followed by Alden-Conger (192), Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet (194) and Truman (214).
Colin Wihlm led Madelia with a 39.

Cleveland 10, Madelia 0
MADELIA — Cleveland defeated Madelia in a Valley Conference softball game on Tuesday.
Brooke Lensing, Jada Taylor, Karlle Clair and Ashlynn Sweet all had a hit for Madelia. Corban Tatro took the loss, allowing 10 runs in five innings.
Madelia (5-5, 0-3) hosts Martin County West on Thursday.
LCWM 10, Nicollet 3
NICOLLET — Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial crushed Nicollet in a Valley Conference softball game on Tuesday.
Nicollet finished the game with only four hits. Hayle Selby allowed 10 runs in seven innings and she gave up 13 hits.
