MORGAN — New Ulm Cathedral defeated Cedar Mountain in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game on Thursday night.

Sam Knowles had 24 points, 23 rebounds and three assists. Jevan Wilfahrt had 13 points and three rebound, Alex Jensen had 8 points and David Wilfahrt had 7 points and four rebounds.

For Cedar Mountain, Chris Dow had 19 points and Devonte Charles had 14 points.

Cathedral (3-0) is at Wabasso on Monday and Cedar Mountain (1-2) hosts BOLD on Tuesday.

Mayer Lutheran 82, Madelia 72, OT

MADELIA — Mayer Lutheran outlasted Madelia 82-72 in overtime on Thursday in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.

The Blackhawks were led by Ja’Sean Glover’s 28 points, while Ethan Arndt added 25 points and had five 3s. Blake Altenburg added 13 points for Madelia.

Madelia (1-2) is at Cleveland Tuesday for a Valley Conference matchup.

LAKE CRYSTAL — The Wabasso wrestling team went 2-0 on Thursday in a prep wrestling triangular.

Going 2-0 on the night for Wabasso was Kaysen Harms, Adryen Tietz, Preston Remiger, Carter Benz and Sam Welch.
