• Knowles, who set the City of New Ulm’s single-game scoring record by scoring 51 points a week ago, continued his strong play by leading the Greyhounds past Mayer Lutheran in the Section 2A playoffs last Thursday.
• Knowles finished the game with 22 points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist in a 65-59 victory over Mayer Lutheran.
• The senior is averaging 17 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game for the Greyhounds (25-3), who advanced to the North Subsection championship game.
“Chris has been a tremendous leader for the Greyhounds all year,” Cathedral coach Alan Woitas said. “He always shows up to practice with a great work ethic and competes at a high level during practices and games. Chris has not only been a very efficient offensive player for the Greyhounds this year but he is also tasked with guarding one of the other team’s best players each night.”
