• Mathiowetz set another scoring mark at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s when she scored 50 points last Friday in a loss to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart. The 50 points broke her single game scoring record that she reached earlier this season when she scored 47 against Minnesota Valley Lutheran.

• Mathiowetz is averaging 27.6 points per game for the Knights, who are off to a 10-2 start (5-2 in Tomahawk Conference play). She’s also averaging 9.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.3 steals per game.

“Madison does such a great job at finishing her shots, she is a special player that we can use inside or outside and we also ask her to handle the ball as well,” St. Mary’s coach Bruce Woitas said. “She is a player that also gets her teammates involved as she is second in assists on our team for this year. Fun to watch, even though it was a tough loss for us.”
