NEW ULM — Chanhassen defeated New Ulm on Tuesday in a nonconference girls’ tennis match.

Bethany Janssen and Lauren Mages won at No. 1 doubles 6-4, 3-6, 10-4.

New Ulm is at Maple River on Thursday.

S/CM competes at St. James

ST. JAMES — Springfield/Cedar Mountain participated in a cross-country meet on Tuesday.

Lilly McCone (S/CM) finished in eighth place with a time of 21:04 while Miranda Groebner finished in 30th place with a time of 24:08.

The boys did not compete due to rain.

St. Mary’s 3, Sleepy Eye 0

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Sleepy Eye 25-19, 25-22, 25-12 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match.

For the Indians, McKenna Strong finished with 12 kills. Brittney Dittbenner added 10 digs with five kills.

St. Mary’s did not report an statistics.

Sleepy Eye (5-7, 0-3) will host New Ulm Cathedral on Thursday.

St. Mary’s will travel to Cedar Mountain on Thursday.

BLHS 3, CM 0

MORGAN — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart swept Cedar Mountain 25-14, 25-10, 25-16 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match.

Tia Weispfennig of BLHS had seven kills, Sara Kottke added six kills and Allison Dornseif had 21 set assists. Katie Buboltz had 10 digs.

BLHS will host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Thursday while CM will host Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Thursday.

ML/GHEC/T 3, Madelia 0

NORTHROP — Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman swept Madelia 25-23, 25-12, 25-19 on Tuesday in a Valley Conference volleyball match.

Emily Stevenson led Madelia with 11 set assists. Brooke Lensing had seven kills with five digs, Jovana Cortez added 10 digs and Dora Facundo had 10 digs. Malia Schwanke and Lillian Maul each had five digs.

Madelia (0-17, 0-5) will host Cleveland on Thursday.

Wabasso 3, Springfield 2

SPRINGFIELD — Wabasso defeated Springfield 25-18, 25-18, 17-25, 19-25, 15-8 on Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference volleyball action.

For the Rabbits, Cora Eichten had 17 kills and Bella Brand had 24 digs. Halle Huhnerkock had 22 digs and Avery Carlson had 22 set assists.

Springfield did not report any statistics.

Boys’ soccer

New Ulm 4, St. Peter 2

NEW ULM — New Ulm defeated St. Peter in a Big South Conference boys’ soccer game on Tuesday.

Joey Goeglein scored New Ulm’s first goal on an assist from Brandon Ocampo in the second half. Later, Aaron Eikanger scored on an assist from Goeglein at 35:14.

Jack Howard scored New Ulm’s third goal at 20:45 on an assist from Ocampo and Howard scored the fourth goal on an assist from Caleb Dewitt at 11:21.

New Ulm hosts Marshall on Thursday.
