NEW ULM — The New Ulm Brewers picked up a 9-0 win over Blue Earth in their home opener at Johnson Park on Friday night in amateur baseball action.

Mitch Kelly got the win for the Brewers, striking out 15 in seven innings of one-hit ball.

Wade French, Brady Ranweiler, Kelly and Brandon Mehlhop each added two hits for the Brewers.

New Ulm (1-1) is at Sleepy Eye for a 2 p.m. Tomahawk East League game Sunday.
