Tomahawk All-Conference Volleyball Team chosen for 2018

The 2018 Tomahawk All-Conference Volleyball Team was finalized on Tuesday, with Wabasso leading the way with six total players honored.

For Wabasso, seniors Maddy Guetter, Jenna Frank, Amanda Hoffman and Megan Rothmeier were chosen to the team. Guetter was also named the conference’s Player of the Year, while Wabasso coach Barb Johnson was named the Coach of the Year.

For Minnesota Valley Lutheran, senior Lauren Paulsen and juniors Maddie Pearson and Mara Weisensel were selected.

New Ulm Cathedral saw senior Karlie Gieseke and sophomore Sarah Mohr chosen to the team, while Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop had senior Miah Busse and junior Hannah Panitzke selected. Springfield junior Kora Wahl, Cedar Mountain senior Emma Schouvieller and Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart senior Rachel Dean were also chosen to the team.

For honorable mentions, Wabasso junior Cora Eichten and senior McKenna Nelson were chosen, while Cathedral saw junior Maggie Fliszar honored. Springfield senior Brittany Rogotzke and Cedar Mountain junior Trista Smith were also selected as an honorable mentions.

Wrapping up the honorable mentions were Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s senior Cassie Heinrichs, Sleepy Eye senior Madison Krueger and BLHS junior Sara Kottke.
