NEW ULM — The New Ulm Steel open their 2017- 18 home season Saturday night at the New Ulm Civic Center when they host the Willmar Warhawks in a 7:10 p.m. puck drop.

Also, beginning at 5 p.m. outside of the Civic Center and behind the main rink there is going to be a tailgate party with free pizza for all ticketholders to the opener. You are asked to bring your own beverage to the tailgate party.

This year’s captain is Trevor Woytick with Luc Kreuser, Alex Nagel and Steven Mordini as alternate captains.

The Steel officially open the season on the road Friday when they meet defending Silver Cup champion Granite City.
