Wabasso 64, CM/C 13

COMFREY – Wabasso erupted for 44 points in the second quarter as it crushed Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Friday in a Southwest District-East football game.

Mitch Fulton scored three of Wabasso’s touchdowns. He rushed seven times for 103 yards. Colton Taylor rushed twice for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Jared Welch, Kyle Jacobson and Taylor each scored one touchdown.

Wabasso quarterback Nick Altermatt was 4 for 5 passing for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Eli Samuelson completed two passes for 28 yards and two CM/C touchdowns. Dylan Hillesheim and Riley Reding each caught one touchdown pass.

Connor Nelsen had five tackles and Andy Lux added four tackles for CM/C.

Wabasso will travel to Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s next Friday and CM/C will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran next Friday.

MLA 56, Madelia 24

MADELIA – Mountain Lake Area defeated Madelia on Friday night in 9-man South District-West football action.

Angel Moran scored two touchdowns and Matt Baumgartner had one touchdown for the Blackhawks.

Madelia (1-2) will host Cleveland next Friday.

Edgerton-Ellsworth 74,

Nicollet 19

NICOLLET – Edgerton-Ellsworth crushed Nicollet on Friday in a 9-man South District-West football contest.

The game was delayed by more than an hour due to light issues. No statistics were available.

Nicollet will play at Heron Lake-Okabena next Friday.

Sibley East 56, GFW 14

WINTHROP – Sibley East downed Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Friday in a South Central District-Blue football game.

No statistics were available to The Journal.

Sibley East will host Mayer Lutheran next Friday and GFW will host New Richard-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva next Friday.
