To the editor: “… Could have ended the Covid pandemic” The mention of Ivermectin, together with the comment, “I am not a horse,” in the Oct. 20th letter written in support of Walz brought a lot to mind. A manufactured report about Ivermectin overdoses in Oklahoma, overwhelmed hospitals, and gunshot victims left waiting was posted by Rolling Stone on Sept. 3, 2021. To the editor: The Oct. 11, 2022, issue of the Independent carried an article by columnist George Will entitled; ‘Why the West must stop Putin’s drive to export Russia’s cruel pathologies’. This article listed at least 15 incidents of Russian cruelty ranging from pushing people through a hole in the ice to drown like rats, to decapitation and amputation of genitals, etc. Is our country much different? New Ulm Public Schools, preparing students

To the editor: As a parent of two New Ulm public school graduates and two students currently enrolled in the middle school and high school, I have a solid perspective on the incredible job New Ulm public schools is doing to prepare students for their future, academically and socially. Of our graduates, one is attending a four-year college, the other, a two-year trade school. Both children were offered opportunities to prepare for their future by taking Advanced Placement (AP) classes, college classes, hands-on classes at the CTE Center, a skilled trade internship, and numerous ...

To the editor: I am writing to ask you to vote YES for the (District 88) referendum. I have had the chance to see and work with kids in New Ulm for over 30 years. To the editor: Choice #1 — If you want to change America to a Socialist Communist country, you will vote Democratic. To the editor: I would like to remind everyone in New Ulm to vote on Nov. 8. And if you are a Ward 4 resident, vote for Larry Mack for city council. The Mack history in New Ulm runs deep. Peter Mack was one of the original settlers of New Ulm. He came to New Ulm in 1854 and was one of the few who stayed. Larry is all about what is best for New Ulm.
