To the editor:

Did you know that New Ulm has a fine BMX Park? It is located in what was called South German Park on Third South Street. It is operated by the River Valley BMX Club for special races like Sunday, July 24, but is regularly open to the public. The skill of the competitors, age 3 and older, was a pleasure to observe.

Did you know that New Ulm has a skate park located just north of the BMX track on First South Street. It is also open to the public. As there is an inherent risk of falling, participants are strongly encouraged to use safety gear.

Finally I hope everyone knows five good citizens of New Ulm are offering their time and talents as our future mayor. Please vote in the primary election on Aug. 9. After surveying the qualifications of the candidates, this writer encourages you to support Kathleen Backer for mayor.
