Political discussion
To the editor:
They were talking politics the other day.
Some had a lot to say, but others, not.
Those on the fence refused to take a side.
They feared an argument with relatives.
Others simply got up and left the room.
Those who remained to talk had a lot of fun.
They threw no punches and no one felt hurt.
Eventually the conversation stopped.
In the pregnant pause that followed after
Someone said, “Let’s play cards.”
And so they did.
