Red flags on School Board issues

To the editor:

On June 11 The Journal reported that the school board went through equity training, raising a red flag for many, followed by an article on October 15 saying that the school board had a study session on LGBTQ issues, raising numerous red flags. What’s going on behind closed doors with our superintendent and our local school board?

The LGBTQ activist made this statement, “It was important not to debate whether homosexuality was right or wrong because there is no answer to that question in which everyone will agree.” She is absolutely wrong in saying it should not be debated. There is a clear answer given to us in God’s Word about what God says about homosexuality, lesbianism, transgenderism, and all of the related isms. If God says something in the Bible, we will believe it.

I can hardly wait for The Journal headline, “School Board and Superintendent invite pastors and priests for a study session on what God says about LGBTQ issues.” The Left (American Marxism) has become increasingly brazen in their push to radically transform American into a nation where: 1) People of faith are forced to celebrate and affirm LGBTQ ideology, 2) Children as young as kindergarten are being indoctrinated with gender identity issues, 3) Children are encouraged to receive experimental “gender transition” procedures, 4) The influence of the Bible and Christianity are removed from our schools and public square, 5) Abortion through all nine months of pregnancy is not only legal but also paid for by your tax dollars, and so much more.

Instead of our superintendent copping out on many issues by saying we are forced to follow the legislature and state demands, he and the school board need to become proactive instead of reactive. They need to write letters to the National School Board Association, the Teachers Union, the Governor, and legislators and relay the community’s feelings, as demonstrated at recent meetings.

The community has said: We do not support CRT because it is divisive, saying white people are uniquely evil and non-white are uniquely innocent. We feel it is unfair to allow male trans-genders to play on female athletic teams, and to use girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms. We want mask wearing and COVID vaccinations to be a personal freedom and not be mandated. Parents want their children to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic, and not be bombarded with social issues, that in many cases are contrary to God’s will. Parents know what is best for their children, not the school board or superintendent.

It behooves our local reporters to ask each board member up for election what their stance is on many of these issues so that we, the community residents, know who we should vote for as board of education members.
