To the editor:

As the store manager for New Ulm Monument, I was saddened to read about the charges against the owner of Heritage Memorials & Stone Creations. We in the monument business often work with people during the most difficult and emotional moments of their lives. They entrust us to help them memorialize those they love with compassion, respect and honesty.

I also am saddened that some seem to have confused that company with New Ulm Monument. New Ulm Monument is an employee-owned business that has been part of this community since 1933, and we are deeply committed to the city of New Ulm and its residents. In fact, we are in the process of completely renovating our building at 1614 N. Broadway, and we plan to be here to help local families honor and remember their loved ones for many years to come.

We have temporarily relocated to a trailer on the premises, but we are open and operating as usual during construction. I am more than happy to talk about our business with anyone who has questions or would like more information. We can be reached at (507) 540-0650.
