Thank you for the opportunity

After careful consideration, I have decided not to seek another term on the school board.

Serving our community has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and fellow board members who care deeply about our students and our schools. I have celebrated successes, wrestled with difficult decisions, and gained an even deeper appreciation for the people who show up every day to do the hard work of educating our children.

My decision is mainly due to changes in my own life. My family and professional commitments have changed, and I am spending less time in our community. I have always believed school board members should be visible, engaged, and closely connected to the people they represent. At this point in my life, I no longer feel I can give the role the attention it deserves.

I am proud of what this board has accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to have played a small part in it. I also believe that leadership includes knowing when it is time for someone else to bring fresh energy and perspective.

Strong communities depend on people who are willing to participate, listen, and work together. Thank you to everyone who has supported our schools, attended meetings, volunteered, asked thoughtful questions, or simply cared enough to stay involved.

I leave this role with gratitude, confidence in our schools, and hope that thoughtful, compassionate people will continue to step forward to serve. If good people decide public service is no longer worth the personal cost, we all lose. The filing period is open until 7/28 and I hope we have excellent choices on the ballot in November.

It has truly been a privilege to serve this community, and I look forward to supporting our schools in new ways in the years ahead.

Thank you for the opportunity,
