What Feehan really stands for

To the editor:

I read the article entitled “MN Dems seek ethics investigation of Hagedorn, “in the Aug. 27th issue of The Journal and came away with a question. The question is related to this statement in the article … “The DFL is lying about the facts in this story to give life to a non-issue and prop up their ultra-liberal candidate, Dan Feehan, who’s radical left-wing views don’t fit the First District,” Hagedorn said in a statement issued through his campaign committee.” My question being, what are these ultra-liberal, radical, left wing views? To find out I called Hagedorn headquarters in Mankato and was told to call the campaign committee. I called the campaign committee and asked my question. Before the conversation was finished I was accused of being a (gasp) Democrat. Accused of not really wanting to know the answer, and wasting time. I never got an answer but I was given the typical political run around, that is, a question asked and the question answered with a different question.

I got nothing, so it was up to me to find out what Jim Hagedorn is trying to protect District 1 from. I went to Dan Feehan’s web site and there it was, an outline of radical ideas cleverly disguised as issues. Let me give you several radical ideas that gives this Sr. Ctizen cause to ponder,

1. Making Healthcare and prescription drugs affordable

2. Protecting Social Security and Medicare.

3. Honoring Vets and protecting our country

4. Combating climate change

5. Preparing our young people for the future, (education)

If these are ultra liberal, left wing radical ideas I quess I can be proud to be accused of being a first district Democrat. The statement by the Hagedorn campaign Committee that caused this bit of political research is so typical of the Trumpian Era, that is being defensive by being aggressively offensive.
