A funeral service will be held at First Lutheran Church, St. James, Wednesday, July 20, at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. A reception will be held at the church following interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. The service will be livestreamed at 1:30 p.m. on the First Lutheran Church Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/flcstjames.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home (sturmfh.com) in St. James.

Fern Louise Juhl was born to Peter and Ethel Juhl on July 24, 1930, in Gettysburg, South Dakota. On Aug. 15, 1948, she married Hubert Branstad in Leland, Iowa.

She is survived by her children, Harley Branstad, Jim Branstad, Gloria Voth and Julie Schmidt.
