Doris Crone

Doris Crone, 97, of New Ulm, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes-SOUTH chapel in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes-SOUTH chapel.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Carol (Greg) Kilbane of Wichita, Kansas; sons, Dean (Shirley) Lindquist of New Ulm and Lyle (Carla) Lindquist of Brooklyn Park; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Lindquist; second husband, Carl Crone; and her four sisters, Lucille, Verona, Edna, and Bernice.

Doris A. Hacker was born April 20, 1925, to Frank and Eugena (Clement) Hacker in Lafayette. She graduated high school, went to Mankato Business School at Mankato State University, and earned her master’s degree in nursing. Doris made her career as a registered nurse, working at Highland Manor, New Ulm Medical Center, and other locations. In 1942, Doris was united in marriage to Robert Lindquist, and they were blessed with three children. Later in life, Doris was united to marriage to Carl Crone in 1966. In her free time, Doris enjoyed collecting antiques, reading, and listening to classical music. She especially enjoyed quilting, so much so that she established the Quilting Guild in New Ulm. Doris will be dearly missed as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. Blessed be her memory.
