Patricia Mae Lee Stelljes was born March 17, 1933, to Edwin and Laura (Guth) Stelljes in New Ulm. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther High School and went to college at DMLC in New Ulm to become a teacher. After college, Patty was united in marriage to Marvin Meihack on July 30, 1955, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with five children. Patty dedicated her life to raising her children and making a home for her family, even winning the Homemaker of the Year award. In addition, she also worked as a teacher in Red Wing, Minnesota, and Racine, Wisconsin, worked part time at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the DMLC bookstore, and worked more than 18 years at the Christmas Haus in New Ulm. In her free time, Patty enjoyed reading, sewing, singing in the church choir, and working with the Ladies Aid at church. Above all else, Patty loved the time she was able to spend with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
