Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Received a report of county and township road signs run over in Stark, Albin and Home Townships since April 24. A report was done for documentation. The report is under investigation.

New Ulm Police

• Responded to Kwik Trip South at 2:40 p.m. Sunday for a fraudulent $100 bill that was passed. Police took possession of the bill. There are no current suspects. Kwik Trip loss prevention is investigating the incident. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a report of a man passed out in front of the New Ulm Public Library at 2:30 a.m. Monday. A 52-year-old intoxicated New Ulm man was combative with police and was handcuffed, transported to the Brown County Jail. The man was cited for obstructing the legal process and disorderly conduct. A report was done for documentation.

• A New Ulm Street Dept. employee found a wallet in a grassy area near the Precision Tool parking lot at 2217 S. Broadway at 10:16 a.m. Monday. Police found a phone number for a 57-year-old Nicollet man in the wallet. The man said one of his cards was used by a 58-year-old homeless man and that he filed a report with the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO). A report went to the NCSO.

• Responded to a domestic call on the 800 block, Payne St. S. at 10:48 a.m. Monday. A 55-year-old Sleepy Eye woman said she and her husband, a 61-year-old Sleepy Eye man are separated. The woman said she was outside when her husband approached her, a brief altercation occurred and he followed her into the house. The woman said her daughter’s finance and her husband got into a physical altercation and she had minor injuries. A report for consideration of domestic assault charges went to the city attorney’s office.

• Responded to a call from a 36-year-old New Ulm man at 8:22 p.m. Saturday who said he friend, a 35-year-old Mankato man was text messaging disturbing comments of wanting to die. Attempts to contact the friend were not successful. The Mankato Department of Public Safety was made aware of the incident. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a driving complaint report at 8:16 a.m. Sunday. Police learned a vehicle was driven on a berm near South Front Street. A 39-year-old New Ulm man admitted to driving on the berm. A report went to city hall.

• Police noticed a passenger side window broken out on a vehicle parked under Marktplatz Mall at 10:02 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle owner, a 64-year-old Arlington man, told police he was not concerned about the damage. A report was done for documentation.

• A welfare check was requested at 11:31 a.m. Monday for a 45-year-old New Ulm woman who sent a concerning message to her landlord. The woman was located. She said she was in some financial hardship but was not thinking of harming herself. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.
