Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash on TH 5 near 381st Avenue, Green Isle Township, Sibley County on snow and ice at 6:43 a.m. Tuesday. Kimberly Rebecca Grimm, 54, Green Isle, was driving a 2017 Ford Focus westbound when he collided with a westbound 1991 Chevy GMT-400 driven by Dylan William Anderson, 18, Watertown. She was transported to an Arlington hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office and Arlington Fire Dept. assisted.

New Ulm Police

• Took a report of a nine-year-old New Ulm boy assaulted by an eight-year-old boy on a school bus Thursday. A school resource officer viewed bus video surveillance that confirmed the eight-year-old boy was the aggressor. Reports were sent to Brown County Human Services and Jefferson Elementary administration.

• Talked to the mother of an 11-year old New Ulm boy who said her son was being harassed on Snapchat by an unknown individual. The mother was informed how to block the user or not using the app at all. A report was done for documentation.

• Arrested a 30-year-old New Ulm woman on a Sibley County theft warrant Thursday. She was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was done for documentation.

• Met with Walmart Asset Protection staff Friday who said they are investigating 26 self-checkout thefts involving a 40-year-old New Ulm woman who didn’t scan all items placed in bags. Video was provided of all 26 incidents of unscanned items with a total value of $1,754.43. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Took a report Friday of a 13-year-old Courtland girl who did not get on the bus after New Ulm Middle School classes. The girl was later found at a Lafayette residence. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report at 12:13 a.m. Saturday of a truck driven into a residence near 8th St. S. and Garden Street. The driver, a 51-year-old Nicollet man, showed impairment signs, was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. Reports were sent to Brown County Probation and the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Took a vehicle vandalism report at 11:03 a.m. Sunday on the 2000 block S. Broadway The front passenger side mirror of a truck was broken. It appeared vandals tried to break other glass but were unsuccessful. Damage was estimated at $400. Two nearby vehicles were entered but nothing was missing.

• Met with Walmart Asset Protection staff at 2:45 a.m. Sunday who said they are investigating thefts involving a 41-year-old New Ulm woman and 61-year-old New Ulm man involving 10 incidents in the self-checkout. The couple did not scan all items placed in bags. The total value of unscanned items was $351.49. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Took a report at 12:59 p.m. Monday of a 15-year-old New Ulm girl with a vape pen on New Ulm Middle School grounds. A citation was issued. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report of a 52-year-old New Ulm woman possibly intoxicated near Advanced Auto, S. Broadway at 1:22 p.m. Monday. The woman smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage. Her probation agent was contacted and asked she be transported to detox. A report went to Brown County Probation.

• A 34-year-old New Ulm man told police at 3:37 p.m. Monday he is a victim of sexual extortion. He said he sent nude photos/video of himself to a woman he chatted with on Google Meet who is requesting money to avoid her sending photos to his friends. The man said he sent $5,000 already and is being pressured to send more to avoid a video being sent. The man was advised to no longer send any funds and to delete his Cash App and Google Meet accounts. A report was done for documentation.
