New Ulm Police

• A 12-year-old Fairfax girl told police at 8:12 p.m. Friday that she was being harassed by a 15-year-old Lafayette boy at the New Ulm Civic Center. Police contacted the girl’s mother. The boy told police no harassment occurred. He agreed to leave the civic center. A report was sent to Sibley County Human Services.

• Stopped a vehicle at 12:42 p.m. Saturday at Front and 7th St. N. because police were aware that the driver, a 70-year-old Courtland man did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver was cited for driving after revocation. Since the man had two driving after revocation citations in 2023, he was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was sent to Brown County Probation.

• Responded to an intensive treatment service facility at 5:33 p.m. Saturday on the 1300 regarding a 31-year-old man without a permanent address who was out of control. Police found the man outside, appearing to be in a mental health crisis, demanding he be taken to Regions Hospital, St. Paul. He was transported to New Ulm Medical Center. A report was done for documentation.

• Received a call at 10:31 p.m. Saturday about a gathering of underage individuals consuming alcohol at 1218 Oak Street. Officers cited four individuals for underage consumption, a 17-year-old, two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old male, all from New Ulm. Many other individuals fled the residence when law enforcement arrived. Reports were sent to the New Ulm City Attorney and Brown County Attorney for other possible charges.

• Stopped a vehicle at Broadway and 3rd Street S. at 1:18 a.m. Sunday for speeding and crossing the center line. A 55-year-old Lake Crystal man showed impairment signs and failed field sobriety and a preliminary breath test. The man was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. Reports were sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for DWI consideration.

• Arrested and transported to jail a 39-year-old New Ulm woman at 826 1/2 N. Broadway at 12 p.m. Monday on a Brown County Apprehension and Detention warrant. A report was sent to Brown County Probation.

• Met a 14-year-old New Ulm female at New Ulm Middle School at 2:19 p.m. Monday. She was cited for having a vape on school grounds. Reports were sent to Brown County Human Services and Brown County Probation.
