New Ulm Police

• Arrested a 41-year-old New Ulm man at for an alleged OFP (order for protection) violation at 4:09 p.m. March 26. A 37-year-old New Ulm woman with a restraining order against the man said he followed her from one business to another and talked to her in the Walmart entryway. Video surveillance showed the incident. Reports were sent to Mn Department of Corrections, Brown County Probation and the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Assisted Brown County Human Services who found a gun at a residence on the 100 block of Center Street at 2:01 p.m. March 27. The gun was taken to the police department for safekeeping. A report was done for documentation.

• Received a one-vehicle crash report on Highland Avenue near Lake Avenue at 3:25 p.m. March 27. Douglas P. Nosbush, 61, Fairfax, was driving a 2003 Chevy Silverado eastbound on Highland Avenue, had a medical issue, left the road and hit a light pole. He wore a seat belt and was not injured. The light pole was knocked over. Damage was severe to the front of the truck.

• Responded to a physical assault report at New Ulm High School, 1600 Oak Street at 12:18 p.m. March 28. A 15-year-old New Ulm male had minor injuries. A report involving a 16-year-old New Ulm male will be sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of 5th degree assault and school sanctions.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a report of a 1999 Buick Century on its side at CR 29 and 260th Avenue, Home Township at 1:41 p.m. March 28. A 64-year-old New Ulm woman was transported to Sleepy Eye Medical Center to be evaluated. She did not complain of injuries. Vehicle damage was moderate.
