Brown County Sheriff’s Office
• Responded to a crash without reported injuries at 7:43 p.m. Aug. 20 at 110th St. and 135th Ave., Linden Township. Franz Helling, 76, Hanska, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban and entered the ditch. The vehicle was towed.
• Received a call at 10:19 a.m. Aug. 20 and performed a welfare check on a 31-year-old man on 340th Ave., Prairieville Township. He was OK but admitted to drinking too much.
New Ulm Police
• Received a call from an individual at 5:07 p.m. Aug. 19 about a 36-year-old New Ulm man said to be waiving a large knife in a residence on the 800 block of S. Payne. The man denied waiving a knife. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.
• Responded to a verbal domestic call at 8:11 p.m. Aug. 19 on the 1600 block of N. Jefferson. A 23-year-old New Ulm man was arrested for violating an Order For Protection (OFP) and issued a citation. A report was sent to Brown County Probation.
• Received a domestic call on the 800 block of South Payne Street at 10:15 p.m. Aug. 19. A 36-year-old New Ulm man said he threatened his father with a knife. He was transported to New Ulm Medical Center for a behavioral health violation. Reports were sent to Brown County Human Services and the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Received a theft report at Walmart, 1720 Westridge Road, at 6:38 p.m. Aug. 21. A 45-year-old Sleepy Eye man did not scan $39.85 worth of merchandise. He received a theft citation.
Sleepy Eye Police
• Responded to a verbal domestic report involving a Sleepy Eye man and woman at 11:26 a.m. Aug. 21 at Sunrise Manor, 500 Remmele St. S.W. Police said she was caught in a vehicle door handle. She did not wish to press charges. A report was sent to the Committee Against Domestic Abuse and Brown County Human Services.
