NEW ULM POLICE

• Police took a vandalism report at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday at 1416 S. German St. The coin machine at Carrie Lawn Apartments and River Bluff Apartments were damaged in attempt to steal coins. There was an estimated $500 in damage and lost coins.

• A two-vehicle accident occurred at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at 20th South and Broadway. Ponciana Tungpalan, 64, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was driving a 2021 Chevy Equinox north on Broadway and came to a complete stop for the semaphore at 20th South and Broadway. Daniel Brown, 32, of Madelia was driving a 2015 Freighliner Truck behind Tungpalan also northbound. Brown said the semaphore changed from green to red and he was unable to stop in time and rear ended Tungpalan’s vehicle.

The Equinox sustained severe damage to the left rear area. THe Freightliner sustained light damage to the front fender.

Tungpalan was transported to New Ulm Medical Center for minor neck and back pain.
